President Woodrow Wilson Leaves For France
to Attend the Versailles Peace Conference

On this day in 1918, President Woodrow Wilson left for France to attend the Versailles Peace Conference becoming the first sitting president to visit Europe. While in Paris, Wilson helped to shape the Treaty of Versailles.
