Howard Hughes Completes a Record
91 Hour Flight Around the World
On this day in 1938, Howard Hughes set a record when he landed in New York City , completing a flight around the
world in 91 hours. This was less than half the time it took in the previous record.
Unlike his previous records, this one was not completed using an aircraft of his own design. He used a Lockheed
Super Electra.
