The City of Milwaukee is Formed in Wisconsin
After the Milwaukee Bridge War of 1845
On this day in 1846, after a series of skirmishes in 1845 between Juneautown to the east and Kilbourntown to the
west, the city of Milwaukee is formed.
The skirmishes were cause by disagreements over a bridge crossing the Milwaukee River and by the actions of Byron
Kilbourn, Kilbourntown's founder.
No one was killed in the skirmishes however some were severely injured.
