Interesting John Hood Facts

After having already lost the use of an arm in a previous battle, during the Battle of Chickamuauga, Hood was shot in the leg. His leg was amputated but his injury was so severe that his leg was sent along with him to the Clisby-Austin house so that they could be buried together. Miraculously though, he survived.
